My Journey to a Restorative Lifestyle

Hello! I am a writer and a teacher of yoga and Ayurveda. I recently returned home to Glasgow, Scotland after 20 years living in the US where I got to be many things, including: radio presenter, wine maker, yoga studio owner, university teacher, magazine writer and waitress. Today, I am the author of two books: Restorative Yoga for Beginners and Living in Balance with Maharishi Ayurveda. I am also an outdoors journalist for Advnture.com and can often be found exploring mountains in pursuit of my next story.

Feel free to skip these boring details: to get where I am today, I earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2004, a master’s degree in Ayurveda in 2017, lots of yoga certifications including 200 hours at Integral Yoga Institute of New York, 300 hours with Shiva Rea, Yin, Restorative and Prenatal courses, and have just generally been very open to trying new things.

As for what drives me? I’m a champion for using yoga and Ayurveda as means to enjoy your life to the fullest without depletion. Whether I’m cooking with Ayurveda after a morning climbing mountains or relaxing in Restorative Yoga postures after an afternoon at my writing desk, you can be sure that when the times comes, I’m recharged and ready to do more of what I love. Teaching these sciences for me is all about helping to bring you home to a more sustainable way of living so we can all enjoy longer, happier and more fulfilling lives.

“We sit together, the mountain and me, until only the mountain remains.”
